CONTEMPORARY MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE
Contemporary Medical Acupuncture is a gentle therapy that treats abnormal activity related to your nervous system, immune system, glands, and organs. It uses fine needles that are inserted into specific nerve sites to address pain, functional problems, and even some diseases.
At Movement Health, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture is recommended if your health and/or mobility are being compromised by an issue related to your nervous system. Whether you’re looking for pain relief or simply want to support the optimal functioning of your immune system, we work with you to create a Contemporary Medical Acupuncture care plan that will help you reach and/or maintain your health and mobility goals.
Your Contemporary Medical Acupuncture care plan can include follow-up visits as well as referrals to other healthcare professionals. Whenever possible, the Movement Health team will work with your other healthcare providers to enhance the effectiveness of treatments that you’re receiving outside of our clinic.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During a Contemporary Medical Acupuncture treatment, one of our qualified and experienced team members will gently insert sterile, solid needles into specific nerve sites on your body. The needles are so fine that you might not even feel them. Your practitioner will then stimulate those nerves by gently wiggling the needles with their fingers and/or by transmitting low-levels of electricity through the needles. During a chiropractic treatment, one of our qualified and experienced team members will manually adjust your body using their hands and other props specifically designed for this purpose. It is normal to hear and feel gentle “pops” coming from your joints during a Chiropractic adjustment. Some appointments may consist of only exercise instruction in a one-on-one setting.
